The Matthews Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 23rd annual ArtFest of Matthews on Saturday, September 27th & Sunday, September 28th. The festival will be held in the Matthews Town Square in front of the Town Hall/Library & Chamber Offices. This has proved to be an excellent location to showcase the ArtFest experience.
This event has attracted some of the finest artists from the Southeast who show and sell their work as well as art lovers and collectors who come to view and purchase art.
All artists who take part in the show are judged by qualified judges and are eligible to receive cash prizes as follows: Best in Show, Juror's Choice, Best Booth Presentation, Merit Awards and Honorable Mention.
To enhance the show there is a YouthArt Scholarship Competition. This marks the 16th year that rising seniors from area schools are urged to enter their art work and compete for $3,500.00 in scholarship money. Entries are displayed in the Train Depot on the Green.
A children's area is provided for budding artists who wish to express their creativity while having fun with art.
Music in the Gazebo is performed by local musicians.
